Monster Surfer to Monster Waves
Maya, mental ray, Photoshop, ZBrush
October 2008

When I was a child, I liked to take the last desk to do my drawings far from the math teacher's eyes. One of my favorite themes was monsters. Always disgusting, ugly and funny monsters.

I was practicing my skills in ZBrush and decided to remember those old days, modeling one of those monsters.

I hope you like it.

I started the basic model in Maya 2008, refined it in ZBrush 3, painted all textures in ZBrush and rendered all together in Maya, using Mental Ray. In Mental Ray, I'd used Final Gather and HDRI. Some color corrections was made in Photoshop CS 4, no retouch and no painting job.
